Ruby Hunter was born by a billabong on the Murray River. Ruby is a Ngarrindjeri / Kukatha / Pitjantjatjara woman. Kura Tungar means ‘River Songs and Stories’ in Ngarrindjeri.

This version was recorded live at the Adelaide Festival Theatre in June 2004 as part of the Adelaide Cabaret Festival’s presentation of Ruby’s Story.
