We're thrilled to be premiering Backlit Distance, a new commission by brilliant young Australian composer and guitarist Julia Reidy, alongside AAO Artistic Director Peter Knight's works Sharp Folds, and The Plains, based on Gerald Murnane’s singular novel “The Plains”.
The AAO brings some of Australia’s most distinguished jazz musicians to Berlin, including pianist Andrea Keller, drummer Simon Barker and trumpeter Peter Knight, next to a new generation of musical talent including clarinettist Aviva Endean, electronics artist Tilman Robinson, trombonist James Macaulay, vocalist Georgie Darvidis, violinist Lizzy Welsh, and bassist Jacques Emery.
