Aviva Endean at inaugural Sound Out

We’re very proud to announce that AAO Associate Artist, Aviva Endean has been announced as a participant in the inaugural Sound Out in Poland. Aviva will be participating in a residency from 25-31 August, in Sokołowsko.

Sound Out is a new professional development and mentoring platform for creative musicians working in contemporary jazz and improvised music who challenge normal categorisation.

As an extension of the Pathfinders program, we are connecting emerging music leaders to their peers in Europe. We’re very proud to represent Australia as a consortium partner in a network of Europe’s leading music organisations.

As a professional development opportunity, Sound Out aims to improve knowledge, skills and networks that will increase the profile and potential of those who take part. Musicians who participate in Sound Out will be those who are leaders in their respective countries and/or genres, who are capable of conceiving larger-scale projects including works that are interdisciplinary or cross-art form or do not conform to any genre.

Sound Out will be produced by Creative Producer Martel Ollerenshaw and presently involves these international partners: Jazz from Scotland (UK), National Forum of Music / Adam Mickiewicz Institute (Poland), Pro Helvetia (Switzerland), InJazz / Buma Cultuur (Netherlands) and the Australian Art Orchestra (AUS). The Sound Out platform is part of the Artistic Exchange Projects of the Europe Jazz Network (EJN).
