To close out our free concert series in partnership with Section 8, Straight Up and Down (part three) will feature works from the Australian Art Orchestra, including ‘We 3D TVs’, composed by AAO Artistic Director Aaron Choulai and commissioned by the Brunswick Music Festival. Taking place in Melbourne’s iconic outdoor container bar, Section 8, this series showcases some of Australia’s most creative musicians and creates a unique platform for the audiences to experience new boundary-pushing compositions.  

Featuring an 8-piece ensemble of Melbourne’s most of exciting improvisers:  Aaron Choulai (piano, composition), Miyama McQueen-Tokita (koto, bass koto), Adrian Sherriff (trombone), Eugene Ball (trumpet), Holly Moore (alto saxophone), Sofia Carbonara (vibraphone), Tamara Murphy (bass) and Joe Talia (drums). 

 While this is a free event, please note capacity is limited. Section 8 has a first come, first served policy, so get in early to grab a seat!
