Creative Music Intensive

Creative Music Intensive

For adventurous musicians, the Australian Art Orchestra Creative Music Intensive (CMI) is an opportunity like no other.

Established in 2014, the CMI is a unique professional development program for musicians across Australia to explore musical cultures and practices, and to gain knowledge that strengthens artistic expression.

“The Creative Music Intensive is a safe space for musicians across cultures to bring their whole selves to a common meeting point, leaving egos and inhibitions behind to embrace the unknown. In this learning environment we conversed in our respective musical languages, exchanged ideas, learned new concepts and dared to push the metaphorical and physical boundaries of our music and our instruments. The Seacroft Estate provided the perfect landscape to stimulate creativity and artistic expression - it felt like we had temporarily entered a different world.”

– Bhairavi Raman - CMI Alumna 2020

Expressions of Interest for 2024 are now open.

And be close to the ones from far away.
Getting in touch with the furthest part of your inner side,
